Man charged after designer handbags stolen in $50,000 haul: police
A man has been charged with shoplifting after he allegedly stole designer goods and handbags valued at more than $50,000 from stores in Sydney and Melbourne, police say.
Police arrested the 25-year-old on Friday, after reports a male had stolen three designer handbags together worth $11,000 from a department store on Castlereagh Street in Sydney's CBD on July 31.

Officers also searched a home on Cooper Street in Surry Hills, where they seized several designer bags and other goods.
The haul included handbags, belts, wallets and clutch purses from luxury labels including Christian Dior, Mulberry, Chloe and Louis Vuitton, police images show.
The man, who is a Vietnamese national, was taken to Day Street Police Station and charged with five shoplifting offences and having items suspected of being stolen.
He was refused bail to appear at Parramatta Bail Court on Saturday.
