A huge blast rocked a military base in Somalia's capital Mogadishu near a stadium on Saturday, top officials say.

Ambulance services said it had killed at least eight people and injured 14.

"It must be a suicide car bomb, I am now transporting casualties," Major Abdullahi Mohamud told Reuters.
