BOSTON --- Darwinzon Hernandez worked a simulated inning on Saturday at Pawtucket.

The left-hander walked one, struck out one and induced a double play grounder. His outing came 24 hours after fellow left-hander Josh Taylor worked his own simulated inning on Friday, walking one and striking out two.

Hernandez and Taylor continue their respective recoveries from COVID-19 at McCoy Stadium. Taylor is scheduled to pitch again Sunday while Hernandez could work multiple innings in his next appearance.

"We’ll extend him out a little bit – two and maybe three," Red Sox manager Ron Roenicke said. "And then hopefully he’s ready to join us."

Right-hander Robert Stock was also among those working on Saturday. Stock struck out a pair and touched 100 mph with his fastball. Boston claimed the 30-year-old off waivers after he was designated for assignment by the Phillies in late July.
