The Union Ministry of Home Affairs on August 7, Friday, declared that the Overseas Citizens of India cardholders living in the United States, the United Kingdom, Germany, France will be free to visit India. The Centre also gave a nod to the Indian citizens to visit these countries.
A 'travel bubble or a bilateral air bubble' by the Ministry of Civil Aviation is a travel corridor between two countries that are willing to wash out the hedge and reconcile the travel connection in the pandemic. India already has bilateral air travel agreements with the US, UK, Germany and France.
"The Ministry of Home Affairs has permitted OCI cardholders who belong to countries with which 'air bubble' arrangements have been finalised by the Ministry of Civil Aviation," a Home Ministry spokesperson said in a tweet.

Under the 'air bubble' scheme, the Home Ministry has considered curtailing the restrictions on travelling by air for the foreigners who desire to visit India and also for Indians who want to fly to other countries. India is easing visa restrictions as well.
Even in the third phase of 'Unlock 3', international travel remains prohibited. The government is trying to ease the restrictions and also keep a check on the spread of COVID-19.
