He said, "Police has already arrested the accused. Victim is still battling for her life and is in critical condition. How will Delhi Electric Vehicle Policy help? CM Arvind Kejriwal answers

Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Friday launched 'Delhi Electric Vehicle Policy' under which his government will waive the registration fee and road tax, and provide an incentive of up to Rs 1.5 lakh for new cars in the national capital. Addressing an online media briefing, he said the policy, which aims to boost the economy, create jobs and reduce pollution level, has been notified, adding that he hoped that after five years, Delhi's name will be taken when there is a discussion on an electric vehicle in the world. The chief minister termed it a "progressive policy" of the country and said it also aims to constitute 25 per cent electric vehicles by 2024, which is currently just 0.29 per cent in the city.

Jumbo jets used to land on Karipur runway after fixing issues in 2019: AAI Chairman

Speaking about the recent air crash incident in Kozhikode, Airports Authority of India (AAI), Chairman, Arvind Singh informed that jumbo jets used to land at Karipur Airport after several issues were fixed in 2019. "Directorate General of Civil Aviation had some issues with the runway in 2015, but after resolving those issues, clearance was given to it in 2019. The jumbo jets of Air India also used to land there," Chairman Arvind Singh informed. At least 18 people have lost their lives in the mishap so far. More than 100 injured are being treated at a hospital.

Mishap occurred after Air India flight tried landing on alternate runway: AAI Chairman

Airports Authority of India (AAI), Chairman, Arvind Singh revealed certain details about the recent air crash incident in Kozhikode that took place on August 07. "The aircraft could not land at a runway on where it had to, and then landing was tried on another runway where the mishap happened. We are monitoring situation and airport will become operational soon. An alternative facility in Nagpur is also under progress," Chairman Arvind Singh informed. At least 18 people have lost their lives in the mishap so far. More than 100 injured are being treated at a hospital.

Flight Data Recorder recovered from wrecked Air India Express plane

Officials have recovered Digital Flight Data Recorder (DFDR) from the Air India Express plane which crash landed at Karimpur airport in Kerala on August 07, and left at least 18 people dead which includes two pilots. Later, the officials also retrieved Cockpit Voice Recorder (CVR). These will be brought to Delhi for investigation. The Air India Express flight carrying 190 passengers was returning from Dubai under the Vande Bharat Mission and skidded off the runway at Karipur airport in Kozhikode during landing on August 07.

Neela Sathe, mother of late Captain DV Sathe who was flying the Air India Express plane which crash-landed at Kozhikode airport on August 07, said, "He was a great son and always first one to help others in need. What else can I say, god should have taken us instead of him." 18 people, including two pilots, lost their lives in the incident.
