Latest news today live updates: Five persons lost their lives and 10 others were rescued after a landslide, triggered by torrential rains, occurred in a residential area in Rajamala of Kerala's Idukki district today, police said.

Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan said that the Disaster Response Force (NDRF) has been deployed to rescue the landslide victims in Rajamala.

Meanwhile, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, in his inaugural address at the conclave on ‘Transformational Reforms in Higher Education under Education Policy’, said that the new Education policy will be the foundation of the new India. The conclave was organised by the Ministry of Human Resource Development and the University Grants Commission.
