At least 15 people were killed and several feared buried under the debris after a landslide due to heavy rain at Rajamalai in Idukki district. Rescue operations are under way. The death toll in the landslide at Rajamala in Idukki district on Friday rises to 15, including six women and one child. Three injured persons have been admitted to Kolencheri medical college while one person is in Tata general hospital.
Government has appointed IG (crimes) Gopesh Agarwal as the special officer for coordinating various rescue ops at Rajamalai in Idukki where the landslide occurred.
