Sushant Singh Rajput Death Case LIVE Updates: The Centre has moved the Supreme Court on Friday seeking to make itself a party to Rhea Chakraborty’s petition in Sushant Singh Rajput death case. Rhea, who is being investigated by the CBI on charges of abetting Rajput’s suicide, has sought transfer of the FIR filed against her by the Bihar Police to Mumbai. The court will hear the matter again next week. Meanwhile, Bihar IPS officer Vinay Tiwari, who came to Mumbai for probe in Sushant Singh Rajput's death case and was quarantined by BMC, has reached Patna. "I would say I wasn't quarantined, the investigation was quarantined. Investigation of Bihar Police was obstructed," said Tiwari. In another development, Rhea Chakraborty appeared before ED after it refused to accept her request for postponing statement recording.
After Central Government's order on August 5, the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has finally taken over Sushant Singh Rajput's death case. On Thursday, CBI re-registered an FIR of alleged criminal conspiracy and abetment to suicide against Rhea Chakraborty, her family members and 3 others on the basis of the FIR filed by Bihar Police on the late actor's father KK Singh's complaint. Total of 6 people have been accused. Today, Rhea Chakraborty will appear before ED for interrogation. The actress's lawyer Satish Maneshinde had requested that the recording of her statement be postponed till Supreme Court hearing but the ED rejected the appeal. ED has asked Rhea to appear for the probe, if she doesn't appear today, the second summon notice will be sent.
Sushant Singh Rajput's death case is being investigated under CBI's Special Investigation Team (SIT) under Manoj Shashidhar (IPS- Gujarat Cadre). On the other hand, Enforcement Directorate (ED) interrogated one of the accused Samuel Miranda on Thursday for nine hours.
