Toyota's Land Cruiser is one of the longest-serving nameplates in the industry.
The 200-series version debuted in 2007 and hasn't changed all that much.
This Heritage Edition with its special badges, bronze wheels and roof rack (not pictured) is proof Toyota saved the best for last.

But that's because the things that make the Cruiser so good aren't things you can see on a build sheet.

This is borne out of the fact that Land Cruiser owners keep their vehicles longer than any other make or model.
Despite its lack of bells and whistles, the Land Cruiser is lovely to drive, as big SUVs go anyway.
The Land Cruiser is a vehicle that breaks a lot of rules: It's good around town and epic off-road, it's expensive but unpretentious and it's a shame we won't get it again.
