BENGALURU: The Hubballi Urban tahsildar’s office has set up an exclusive war room to ensure Covid-19 patients in the taluk get timely medical help.
The first taluk-level war room in the state, it has been functioning for two weeks. The facility was established after a protest was held at KR Circle against delay in shifting a patient to the Covid Care Centre (CCC).
Officials working in the war room will instruct doctors, nurses and ambulance operators through the WebEx video conferencing facility. Anil Kumar Jalageri, taluk coordinator for Covid operations, said: “We will share patient information and location with the ambulance driver and track ambulance movement — how much time it takes to reach the place and shift the patient. We’ll use the video conferencing facility to monitor doctors who are supposed to visit patients in home isolation,” he added.
Shashidhar Madyal, tahsildar, Hubballi Urban, said 50 staffers are on Covid duty in the taluk and nine ambulances are in place to shift patients to the CCC.
The war room is equipped with two TV sets — one for tracking ambulances and another for video calling.
Prakash Nashi, tahsildar, Hubballi Rural, said of the total 139 patients, 102 have been discharged.
