2021 Subaru Legacy And Outback Roll Out With A Few New Features, Revised Pricing

Subaru has updated the Legacy sedan and Outback crossover for the 2021MY introducing new gear such as adaptive LED headlights, passenger seatbelt reminder and rear seat reminder to prevent child and / or pet entrapment which is now standard on all models.

2021 Subaru Legacy

Available from $22,895 (MSRP), $150 more than the previous model year, the 2021 Legacy comes in six trim levels, named Base, Premium, Sport, Limited, Limited XT and Touring XT.

The entry-level grade has standard EyeSight Driver Assist Technology, remote keyless entry, a 7-inch infotainment system with Bluetooth, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto and the 2.5-liter boxer engine that’s paired to a CVT and puts out 182 HP and 176 lb-ft (239 Nm) of torque. The sedan can be enhanced with the Alloy Wheel Package, for $350.

The Legacy Premium starts at $25,145 and adds a new exterior color, called the Brilliant Bronze Metallic, which can be combined with the Black or Ivory interior. It also gets dual-zone climate control, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, 16.6-inch infotainment system and All-Weather Package. Options include the keyless entry & go, LED fog lamps and blind spot detection with lane change assist and rear cross traffic alert for $1,000, and the TomTom sat-nav and power moonroof for $2,595.

With an MSRP of $27,095, the Legacy Sport adds 18-inch wheels, a different grille, body colored rocker trim and trunk spoiler, LED fog lamps, Crystal Black Silica look for the side mirror caps and unique charcoal gray upholstery with red stitching. The sat-nav, power moonroof, reverse automatic braking and blind spot detection with lane change assist and rear cross traffic alert are available at $2,245.

From $29,895, the Legacy Limited offers rear A/C outlets, keyless entry & go, heated rear seat backs, leather-trimmed upholstery, reverse automatic braking and blind spot detection with lane change assist and rear cross traffic alert. The option package includes the sat-nav, Harman Kardon premium audio, power moonroof and heated steering wheels for $2,045.

If you want the turbocharged 2.4-liter boxer engine, then you will have to go for the Limited XT, which starts at $34,445 and adds all of the optional extras included in Limited trim level.Finally, the Legacy Touring XT comes from $36,145, builds on the Limited XT and boasts Sierra Tan Nappa leather upholstery and 180-degree front view monitor.

2021 Subaru Outback

Seven trim levels are available for the 2021 Outback, namely the Base, Premium, Limited, Touring, Onyx Edition XT, Limited XT and Touring XT.

Pricing starts at $26,795 and standard gear counts the upper and lower 7-inch touchscreen displays, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, Bluetooth and others.

The Outback Premium is priced from $29,045, adding the All-Weather Package, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, 10-way power adjustable driver’s seat, dual-zone climate control and two additional USB ports in the back, as well as the Brilliant Bronze Metallic paint finish that’s available from this grade. The optional packages will get you the keyless entry & go, electric tailgate and blind spot detection with lane change assist and rear cross traffic alert for $1,400, and the power moonroof and 11.6-inch sat-nav from $2,995.

Building on the Premium and getting perforated leather upholstery, heated rear seat backs, rear A/C outlets, keyless entry & go, as well as the reverse automatic braking and blind spot detection with lane change assist and rear cross traffic alert, the Outback Limited starts at $33,595. If you fork out $2,045, you can also have a power moonroof, heated steering wheel, larger infotainment screen and a premium audio system.

Choosing the Outback Onyx Edition XT, from $35,145, will get you the turbocharged engine, in addition to the electric tailgate, 180-degree front view monitor, Dual-Mode X-Mode, 18-inch wheels and badging, black-finished exterior trim and two-tone interior. This model can be enhanced with the power moonroof, 11.6-inch sat-nav system and reverse automatic braking from $1,845.

Besides the upgraded boxer engine, the 2021 Limited XT adds a premium audio, power moonroof, heated steering wheel, 11.6-inch display and driver distraction system, and will cost you $37,995. The Touring starts at $37,495 and features heated steering wheel, ventilated seats, 180-degree front view monitor, Java Brown Nappa leather upholstery and exclusive accents inside and out.

Priced from $39,945, the range-topping Touring XT brings all of the above and the 2.4-liter turbo engine.
