Dwarka temple to be closed for Janmashtami

Rajkot: The famous Dwarkadhish temple of Lord Krishna will remain closed for four days from August 10 to August 13 to avoid heavy rush of devotees for Janmashtami.
Lakhs of people throng the temple town for Krishna Janm on the day of the festival and they start trooping in a day before. Devbhumi Dwarka district collector NK Meena, who issued a notification in this regard on Thursday, said, it’s not possible to control the massive rush even with pass systems. “With passes, we can only accommodate 10,000 devotees in a day.”
Though the temple will remain closed for devotees, prayers will be performed and the entire ritual will be streamed live on the social media
There are total 97 Covid-19 positive cases in the district out of which eight are reported in Dwarka town.
