
West Bengal WBJEE Results 2020 HIGHLIGHTS: The West Bengal Joint Entrance Examination Board has released the result for the state Joint Entrance Examination on Friday, August 7. The result including the merit list has been released, following which it will be available at the website- wbjeeb.nic.in.
Though the evaluation process was completed in April, but the the delay is due to the Higher Secondary exam, Chairman Malayendu Saha said. Around 1.1 lakh candidates appeared for the engineering entrance examination that was conducted on February 2.
The entire counselling process will be held online this year in September, as per the board. The counselling process is divided into various steps which include registration, choice filling, seat allotment, reporting to the colleges, et al. The students who have been allotted a rank will proceed for the counselling session. The eligibility for participating in the counselling is that the candidate should achieve a rank.

The candidates have to select the branch and the institution according to their preferences for the counselling procedure. Once the counselling is done, the seat allotment results will be declared online on the official website. So, the candidates can check the official website once they are done with the first round of counselling.
Souradeep Das from Raiganj, Uttar Dinajpur topped the West Bengal Joint Entrance Examination (WBJEE 2020) , results of which were released today. However, he does not wish to pursue an engineering degree from West Bengal. “I am surprised. I did not expect to do so well in the state entrance exam,” he said adding that he does not wish to study in any West Bengal-based college and would consider taking admission in IIT-Bombay or IISc Bangalore instead.

A total of 51 per cent students from West Bengal Council of Higher Secondary Education (WBCHSE) has cracked the state JEE this year. The percentage of successful candidates from other boards are, CBSE- 31%, ISC- 3%, other boards- 15%
A total of 71 per cent students from state became successful in state JEE. Apart from the state students, 29 per cent from other state cracked state engineering entrance exam this year

This year, around 2,053 seats are vacant in total 10 government run engineering colleges, while, admission process will be conducted for around 28,493 seats in 86 private engineering colleges
The counselling process for the WBJEE will begin next week, the dates will be announced soon. The students don not have to pay any registration fee for the counselling
To check result, the students need to click on the result link- wbjeeb.nic.in. Enter roll number, registration number. Results will appear on the screen. Download it, and take a print out for further reference.
The students rated the paper as moderate, with the question pattern following the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE Main).Reiterating the same, teachers too said the state Joint Entrance (WBJEE) paper was at par with JEE Main. “This is the first time that the state joint entrance examination followed the pattern of JEE Main. In Physics, questions covered the entire syllabus. While in JEE Main, it covers 70 per cent of the syllabus, WBJEE covered the whole syllabus,” said Sandip Sanyal, Associate Professor, Physics, FIITJEE.
