Five men wearing police uniform opened fire and looted the jewellery shop in Bhor, Pune
A jewellery store at Kapurhol, Bhor which is located 55 km from Pune was robbed by five unidentified persons who donned police uniform. Balaji Jewellers of Sanjay Nikam at Sanjay Complex in Kapurhol was robbed by fake police personnel who opened fire at the store on Wednesday.
According to police officials, a group of five men which comprised of two wearing a police uniform and the other three in casual attire arrived at the store at 4.45 pm on Wednesday. The men started demanding the shop owner Sanjay and his younger son about the gold ornaments and alleged that they are police officers and some of the ornaments the store is selling are of theft.
Soon after the gang started looting ornaments, while one of the intruders opened fire from a pistol. As soon as the firing was made, it created chaos. Taking this advantage the gang fled away from the car. According to reports, six-round were fired. Fortunately, nobody was injured in the open fire. A team of Rajgad Police station led by Inspector Vinayak Vetal rushed to the spot. Police said a team has been deployed to investigate the matter of how much gold was been looted. The police stated that they were checking CCTV camera footage too.
