A major landslide has occurred in Munnar in Kerala, in which many laborers working in tea gardens are trapped. Forest officials and other emergency service personnel have reached the spot. Officials have said that 70 to 80 people live in this area. According to the latest update, 5 people have died in the incident. The area has been raining heavily for the last three days and life has become disrupted. According to local officials, the accident took place in Idukki district early Friday. This area is completely cut off. Therefore, relief and rescue operations are difficult. The place where the landslide occurred was the colony of laborers working in the tea plantation.
The entire area was hit by the landslide. It is being told that most of the laborers were residents of Tamil Nadu. Several parts of Kerala have been receiving heavy rains for the last four days.
