Puducherry man gets 10-year rigorous imprisonment for sexually assaulting minor boy

PUDUCHERRY: A Puducherry special court sentenced a 20-year-old man to 10 years' rigorous imprisonment for sodomising and sexually assaulting a minor boy.
Special judge P Dhanapal directed the government to pay a compensation of Rs 2 lakh to the 12-year-old boy.
Special public prosecutor N Balamurugan said M Hussain, an unemployed youth from Kottakuppam in Villupuram district of Tamil Nadu, kidnapped the boy who was playing in front of his house on April 15 last year. He took the boy to a nearby coconut grove and sexually assaulted him.
The Muthialpet police registered a case against the man under sections 323 (punishment for voluntarily causing hurt), 363 (punishment for kidnapping), 367 (kidnapping or abducting in order to subject person to griev­ous hurt, slavery, etc) and 506 (ii) (punishment for criminal intimidation) and section 6 (punishment for aggravated penetrative sexual assault) of the Protection of Children from the Sexual Offences (Pocso) Act, 2012 and arrested him.
