An Air India Express Dubai-Calicut flight with 191 travellers and crew on board slipped off the tabletop runway and plunged into a 50 feet valley breaking into two portions while landing on August 7
The aircraft landed at the Karipur airport at around 7:40 pm and overshot the runway, following which it is split into two
Some of the passengers were said to be in critical condition and were rushed to nearby hospitals
Directorate General of Civil Aviation said that on landing, the aircraft skidded to "the end of runway and fell down in the valley and broke down into two pieces"
