
Munnar Landslide: 10 killed, several others feared trapped; heavy rain alert in Kerala
Following a red alert issued by the India Meteorological Department (IMD)- of heavy to very heavy rainfall in parts of Kerala, torrential rains pounded Idukki district, resulting in a major landslide. 13 people are confirmed dead and more than 70 tea workers are believed to be trapped under debris. Kerala CM Pinrayai Vijayan, who was monitoring the situation, has informed that 50-members of a special task force have been sent to the spot for the rescue operations.
