Actor Sameer Sharma, who played the role of Shaurya Maheshwari in Yeh Rishtey Hain Pyaar Ke, was found hanging in his rented apartment in Malad in Mumbai. The 44-year-old actor, according to the police, died by suicide two to three days ago. The body had started to decompose when the cops reached his flat. Malad Police Station officials who are investigating the case said that the body was found hanging from the kitchen ceiling. Earlier this year, Sameer Sharma had shifted to this rented flat in Chincholi Bunder, Malad West in Mumbai. He resided at Neha CHS building at Ahimsa Marg earlier. He moved to this flat in February this year.

Sameer Sharma's neighbours had complained that a foul smell was coming from his house. When the building watchman went there, he saw that doors of the kitchen were open and the actor was hanging from the ceiling. He saw the body and alerted the society members. Looking at the condition of the body, the police suspect that the actor killed himself two to three days ago. No suicide note was recovered at the spot. However, the cops are searching the actor's house thoroughly to get any evidence.

The police are also looking into the financial angle. Malad Police have registered an Accidental Death Report in the case.

Sameer Sharma has worked in both television and films. He was seen in films like Hasee To Phasee and shows like Left Right Left, Kahaani Ghar Ghar Kii, Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi and Yeh Rishtey Hain Pyaar Ke.
