The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) informed that water entered JJ Hospital on Thursday evening due to incessant rainfall, and that was later cleared and there is no water accumulation in the hospital now.

BMC starts 20% water cut in city as lake levels still low
Amidst the extremely heavy downpour over the past two days, the BMC implemented a 20% water cut in the city from Wednesday, due to poor rainfall in catchment areas in July. Although it has been raining heavily for the past two days in districts close to the catchment areas of five lakes that supply water to Mumbai, the stock rose just 2% in the 24 hours till Wednesday morning.
Dahanu gets highest rainfall since 1945, villages submerged
Dahanu broke its 75-year August rainfall record after it received 383mm rain early on Wednesday, exceeding its previous best of 355mm in 1945. While heavy rain began lashing the coastal town of Dahanu taluka on Monday, the intensity increased by Tuesday night. The district administration had issued a red alert for Wednesday and Thursday. While no untoward incident was reported, several villages, roads and bridges were submerged in water. At Dharampur village in Dahanu, around 15 small boats anchored on the shore were washed away. The boats were used to carry villagers across the river.
Mumbai gets season’s average rainfall in just two months
The mega city reported intense rain activity on Wednesday. Following the extremely heavy downpour, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) observatories at Colaba and Santacruz have surpassed the season’s average rainfall of 2,066mm and 2,260.4mm, respectively, for four months in a span of about two months. So far, IMD Colaba has recorded 2,301.8mm and Santacruz 2,338.2mm.
