NEW DELHI: IT shares were trading on a positive note on Thursday's morning session.

Shares of NIIT Technologies (up 4.69 per cent), Tata Consultancy (up 1.94 per cent), HCL Technologies (up 1.72 per cent), Wipro (up 1.53 per cent) and Infosys (up 1.47 per cent) were among the top gainers.

While Larsen & Toubro Infotech (down 1.73 per cent) and Info Edge (India) (down 0.82 per cent) were the top losers in the index.

The Nifty IT index was trading 1.23 per cent up at 18090.3 around 11:22AM.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 65.60 points at 11167.25, while the BSE Sensex was up 214.92 points at 37878.25.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 37 were trading in the green, while 13 were in the red.

Shares of YES Bank, Vodafone Idea, Tata Motors, SAIL and Zee Ent. were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
