Coronavirus Live Updates: India reported 56,282 coronavirus cases in a day taking the total number of cases in the country to 19,64,536. Over 900 deaths were reported in the last 24 hours taking the total fatalities to 40,699.Active COVID-19 cases in India stand at 5,95,501, while 13,28,336 people have recovered, the Union Health Ministry said today.
The recoveries have surged to 13,28,336 and are more than twice the active cases of the coronavirus infection, it said.
Due to the record highest daily recoveries, the active cases have reduced to 5,86,244 and comprise 30.72 per cent of the total COVID-19 caseload.

The US has now recorded 4,818,328 total cases, which have resulted in 157,930 deaths, making it by far the worst-hit country in the world.
