SILCHAR: The deputy commissioner of Cachar distirct Keerthi Jalli on Wednesday asked the people of the district to get themselves tested voluntarily to prevent community spread of the virus.
Jalli said mobile teams of doctors and healthcare workers will be collecting samples from Bashkandi to Udharbond in prominent market places. “Do not panic and get yourself tested. You will get the results in 15 minutes as these are rapid antigen tests. The more we detect, the better it will be for the community as we will be able to segregate the virus and break the chain of transmission.”
The DC said home treatment of Covid-19 positive cases is available and that the administration will consider it in right earnest.
Jalli also expressed her gratitude towards resident associations who have been encouraging home isolation and treatment at homes. “We welcome and applaud such civic responsibilities shown by citizens. We request the resident associations to support us further by ensuring nobody breaks Covid containment rules,” Jalli added.
The district administration said in order to make the process transparent and easier, persons opting for home treatment have to be asymptomatic, have to have means of self monitoring through oximeter and thermometer and have a separate room with attached toilet. Moreover, the person must not be living around senior citizens with co-morbidities and the neighbours will also have to give an undertaking in this regard. Arrangements for a private doctor for monitoring and arrangements for a private vehicle for shifting to a nearest hospital also has to be made by the patient.
