Bhoomi pujan marks the beginning of a new era: Shah

NEW DELHI: Union home minister Amit Shah called the ‘bhoomi pujan’ ceremony for construction of Ram Temple at Ayodhya a “historic and proud day” for India which marks the beginning of a new era, and said the government is committed to preserve Indian culture and values.
Shah, who is under treatment for Covid-19, took to Twitter to hail the ground-breaking ceremony. He said construction of the temple has become possible because of the decisive leadership of PM Modi. In another tweet, Shah said, “Construction of Ram Temple in Ayodhya has been a symbol of the faith of Hindus around the world for centuries. By performing bhoomi pujan PM Modi and Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Tirtha Kshetra have honoured the faith of crores of people.”
He said characterisation of Lord Ram is the basis of Indian culture and that the temple will boost economic development of the region.
