Stay-cations

We drove our RV to New Mexico for my mother's 102nd birthday. I had to go. I don't know when I'll see my mother again. It was worth the 3 short visits we had with her outside on the patio with masks and social distance. The RV was the only way I would consider going. We ate and slept in it and used the RV bathroom!

Definitely staying away from Hampton Beach ...restaurants ..crowds of any sort ..wearing the mask everywhere I go ..and counting the 90 days until we can remove the criminal

It hasn't changed my summer plans, because I understand that President Trump found an effective treatment. It's called Hydroxychloroquine, and frontline doctors have used it to cure hundreds of covid patients. If I get the chinavirus I won't be too worried.

The coronavirus pandemic may have altered our plans, but it has not been able to keep my family from exploring the outdoors and having fun. Although none of us were regular bikers before the virus, being confined to our house for several months had made us desperate for some fresh air and a change of scenery. By now, we have gone on so many bike excursions that it has become a new tradition. Bike trails have been a good option for us, as they keep us discovering new places while staying safe. Choosing new trails every trip keeps us busy while having fun. We’ve learned to look for the kind of trails we like: not too many hills, not too short, and nicely paved. My favorite trail so far is the Nashua River Rail Trail. We went on that one with some family friends, and we even got to stop for some ice cream half way (a much needed break after biking almost 18 miles). Though we hope the pandemic will end soon, we have found ourselves a new hobby that we will continue to pursue even once things return to normal.

I retired this year. The whole family was going to Disney-cancelled. We’ll try again next year with a new surprise baby coming with us! Been hanging out by the pool. Taking it easy

I was supposed to hang out with my mom, but she died because of Covid and the (expletive deleted) care she received at the Lifecare Center. The same thing has happened to tens thousands of other familys across the county. So, that ruined my "summer plans". I'm sure I had other things booked that were canceled, but that pales in comparison.

Stay-cations

Heather Morrison

We had to cancel a planned trip to Portugal. We are taking a couple of weekend trips to Cape Cod, but that’s all this year. We’re still basically staying home. Not eating at any restaurants (takeout only) and avoiding gathering with friends and family.

Julie Sullivan

Cambridge, Mass.

Between May and September we were planning to visit summer tourist destinations in New York, New Jersey, Delaware, Maine, Vermont, and the NH seacoast and we cancelled everything. We invested the vacation funds in our backyard and have been spending our time at home or visiting NH State Parks.
