NEW DELHI: Around 54 stocks rose to touch their 52-week highs on NSE in Thursday's session.

Among the stocks that touched their 52-week highs were Aarti Drugs, Aurobindo Pharma, Akash Infra-Projects, Balaxi Ventures, BIRLASOFT, Caplin Point Laboratories, Hindustan Zinc, FDC, Granules India, Indiamart Intermesh, Jindal Poly Films, Karda Constructions, Marksans Pharma, Polyplex Corporation, Strides Pharma Science, MindTree and PI Industries.

Benchmark NSE Nifty index was trading 79.45 points up at 11181.10 on Thursday on account of buying in frontline bluechip counters.

Overall, 40 shares were trading in green in Nifty50 index, while 10 were trading in red in the afternoon trade.

In the Nifty 50 index, Zee Ent., ONGC, GAIL, BPCL and TCS were among top gainers, while Tata Steel, Maruti Suzuki, M&M, Eicher Motors and Bharti Airtel were trading in red.

The BSE Sensex was trading 252.35 points up at 37915.68.
