Vodafone Idea Q1 results: Loss widens to Rs 25\,460 crore; ARPU at Rs 114
Vodafone Idea on Thursday posted a net loss of Rs 25,460 crore in the June quarter on exceptional loss of Rs 19,923.20 crore. The debt-laden telecom fim had posted a loss of Rs 4,873.90 crore in the same period last year.
Exceptional loss includes integration and merger related cost, provisions, licence fees and SUC on AGR and one-time spectrum charges including interest.
Revenue from operations of the firm declined 5.42 per cent YoY to Rs 10,659.30 crore.
“Q1FY21 was a challenging quarter as availability of recharges due to store closure and ability of customers to recharge on account of economic slowdown were impacted,” said Ravinder Takkar, MD and CEO, Vodafone Idea.
Average revenue per user (Arpu) declined to Rs 114 against Rs 121 in the preceding quarter ended March 31.
Gross debt (excluding lease liabilities) stands at Rs 1,18,940 crore, including deferred spectrum payment obligations due to the government of Rs 92,270 crore.
Cash and cash equivalents were Rs 3,450 crore and net debt stood at Rs 1,15,500 crore (against Rs 1,12,520 crore in Q4FY20.
The company announced its results post market hours. Earlier, shares of the company closed 0.72 per cent down at Rs 8.25. On the other hand, the benchmark BSE Sensex settled 0.96 per cent higher at 38,025.
