Share market update: Nifty Financial Services index up: Piramal Ent gains 2%

NEW DELHI: Nifty Financial Services index was trading with gains on Thursday's morning session.

Shares of REC (up 2.71 per cent), Piramal Enterprises (up 2.46 per cent), Shriram Transport Finance (up 1.88 per cent), Mahindra & Mahindra Financial (up 1.53 per cent) and Power Finance Corporation (up 1.45 per cent) were among the top gainers.

While Axis Bank (down 0.84 per cent), Cholamandalam Investment & Finance (down 0.32 per cent), HDFC (down 0.25 per cent) and HDFC Asset Management Company (down 0.12 per cent) were the top losers in the index.

The Nifty Financial Services index was trading 0.45 per cent up at 10733.7 around 10:58AM.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 80.55 points at 11182.2, while the BSE Sensex was up 267.68 points at 37931.01.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 37 were trading in the green, while 13 were in the red.

Shares of YES Bank, Vodafone Idea, Tata Motors, SAIL and Zee Ent. were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
