Three people have been seriously injured during an early morning crash on a slip road of the M4, near Bridgend.
The eastbound side of the carriageway is closed between J35, Pencoed, and 34 A4119, Miskin, after the incident at about 04:40 BST on Thursday.
One car went down the embankment and caught fire after the three car crash, said South Wales Fire and Rescue.
Traffic Wales said there were long delays.
Inrix, the traffic reporting service, said queues were building from Sarn services on the carriageway.
There are also delays on the A473 Llanharan to Talbot Green and the A48 Cowbridge to Bonvilston, as people try to avoid the area.
South Wales Police said a silver Ford Ka and Ford Fusion crashed on the slip road before the Ford collided with a Nissan Navara.
One woman and two men in the Ka were seriously injured and taken to hospital, while two others were treated for minor injuries.
The Welsh Ambulance Service said it sent four ambulances, a rapid response vehicle and a specialist Hazardous Area Response Team, to the scene.
South Wales Police said an investigation into the cause of the crash had been launched, and officers are appealing for anyone with dash cam footage to contact the police.
