HYDERABAD: The prompt response by Uppal woman sub-inspector of Rachakonda commissionerate in Telangana capital Hyderabad on Thursday saved the life of a 31-year-old techie.
The IT professional, working in Gachibowli and resident of Ramanthapur under Uppal limits, called his boss on Wednesday late night informing, he would end his life due to financial and personal issues.
“His boss, in turn, informed Alwal police who passed the information to Uppal police. WSI, J Chandana, who was on duty, first attempted to reach out to the victim. When he did not respond, she traced his mobile number and rescued him,” said Uppal Inspector, Ranga Swamy.
The victim had travelled from Sangareddy to Ramanthapur on his bike overnight and had attempted to over-dosed on allergy medicine.
“The officers reached nearby his house. He was rescued before he could do anything further. He had some dispute with his brother, while, was also going through financial problems due to which he was vexed with his life,” added the officer. The victim was rescued at around 5.30 am on Thursday.
As instructed by Rachakonda commissioner of police, Mahesh Bhagwat, the techie was counselled by psychologist and the WSI and later handed him over to his relatives.
