NEW DELHI: Media stocks were trading higher on Wednesday's morning session.
Shares of Hathway Cable & Datacom (up 4.88 per cent), Network 18 Fincap (up 3.59 per cent), Jagran Prakashan (up 3.25 per cent), Sun TV Network (up 2.84 per cent) and Dish TV India (up 2.53 per cent) were among the top gainers.
While TV18 Broadcast (down 2.09 per cent) and Navneet Education Ltd (down 0.27 per cent) were the top losers in the index.
The Nifty Media index was trading 1.28 per cent up at 1337.15 around 11:01AM.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 79.20 points at 11174.45, while the BSE Sensex was up 256.9 points at 37944.81.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 39 were trading in the green, while 10 were in the red.
Shares of YES Bank, Vodafone Idea, SBI, SAIL and Federal Bank were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
