20 family ID cards distributed in city

Gurgaon: A year after launching a portal for Parivar Pehchan Patra (family identity card), the district administration on Tuesday distributed the cards to 20 beneficiaries in the city.
According to the officials, the portal was launched on July 25, 2019 by the state government. Around two lakh families were surveyed following which the statewide distribution of cards began on Tuesday. Chief minister Manohar Lal Khattar distributed a few cards in Panchkula.
Camps would be organised in Gurgaon from August 27 to August 29 in the rural and urban areas, to collect data to prepare more family ID cards. The data of the families will be verified by the head of the family first and then these cards will be made.
Officials said that the cards are likely to be ready in September and the administration will start giving benefits of various state government schemes to the beneficiaries in three months through this card.
At the family ID card distribution programme in Gurgaon, MLA Sohna Sanjay Singh said that the family identity cards would ensure transparency in disbursal of various schemes of the state government.
In Gurgaon, Pataudi MLA Satya Prakash Jrawta, deputy commissioner Amit Khatri and BJP district president Bhupender Chauhan distributed the cards.
