Expect dry spell for most of this week in Delhi

NEW DELHI: Delhi could see a relatively dry spell this week, with showers only expected from Sunday, a Met official said.
India Meteorological Department (IMD) stated that, while isolated parts of Delhi might record drizzle in the next few days, monsoon would only influence on Sunday, bringing light rain. Thereafter, the possibility of moderate rain would increase, an official said.
Kuldeep Srivastava, scientist, IMD, and head, Regional Weather Forecasting Centre, Delhi, said the monsoon had weakened with its trough shifting away from Delhi.
Delhi recorded a maximum of 36.3 degrees Celsius on Tuesday, two notches above normal for this time of the season, while the minimum was 29 degrees, two degrees above normal. Met official said the humidity would continue to remain on the higher side this week. On Tuesday, it oscillated between 60% and 84%.
The forecast for Wednesday shows a possibility of very light rain in some parts. The maximum and minimum are likely to be around 37 and 28 degrees Celsius, respectively.
