2021 Audi E-Tron And E-Tron Sportback Gain New Entry-Level Trim, Cost Nearly $9,000 Less Than Before

The Audi E-Tron hasn’t been a huge seller in the United States, but the company has just announced a new entry-level Premium trim.

Thanks to this change, the 2021 E-Tron has a base price of $65,900. That makes it $8,900 less expensive than its predecessor.

Audi didn’t release detailed specifications, but confirmed E-Tron Premium will have rear privacy glass, a power tailgate and 20-inch wheels with a five-spoke design. Buyers will also find power-folding side mirrors with heating, dimming and memory functions.

Inside, there’s a heated steering wheel, heated front seats and a four-zone climate control system. The electric crossover also has a digital instrument cluster, Homelink and a lane departure warning system.

For an additional $3,500, customers can get a Convenience Plus Package. It adds a driver assistance package as well as a black optic exterior package. The latter includes a matte black grille, matte black roof rails and black accents on the bumpers.

Besides the new entry-level trim, all 2021 E-Trons have an 95 kWh battery with a usable capacity of 86.5 kWh – an improvement of nearly 3 kWh. Hardware and software optimizations also mean an increased range of 222 miles (357 km) – an improvement of 18 miles (29 km).

While the 2020 E-Tron Sportback just went on sale in the United States, it’s also getting a Premium trim for 2021. It will cost $69,100 which is $8,300 less than the 2020 E-Tron Sportback Premium Plus. Equipment mirrors that on the E-Tron Premium, but the crossover coupe comes standard with an S line exterior.

Additional changes are limited, but Premium Plus versions of the E-Tron and E-Tron Sportback gain newly available dual charging ports. This allows the crossover to be charged from either side of the vehicle.

Note: Prices exclude a $1,095 destination charge and federal, state and local incentives
