Ram Mandir Bhoomi Poojan: Here's the first picture of Lord Ram at makeshift temple in Ayodhya

The grand event will be witnessed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi who will lay the foundation of the temple, RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat, UP Governor Anandiben Patel and Uttar Pradesh CM Yogi Adityanath.


Ahead of the ground breaking ceremony, Shri Ram Janmbhoomi Teerth Kshetra on August 5 shared the exclusive picture of the idol of Lord Ram currently placed at a makeshift temple in Ayodhya for devotees to see across the country.

The Trust wrote on Twitter, "Divya Darshans of Bhagwan Shri Ramlalla Virajman from Shri Ram Janmbhoomi complex".

The grand event is attended by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat, UP Governor Anandiben Patel and Uttar Pradesh CM Yogi Adityanath.

PM Modi has laid down the foundation stone of the temple.

The grand celebrations for the Bhoomi Poojan started at 8 am. The auspicious time for the ground breaking ceremony was at 12.40 pm. For devotees to witness the live event in Ayodhya, huge screens have been set up across the city.

The entire city of Ayodhya has been decked up and massive preparations have been made for this occasion with a festive air.

Sanitisation work was also carried out at the Hanuman Garhi temple in the morning ahead of the PM Modi's visit. The Saryu Ghat was also decorated. Every street in Ayodhya is illuminated with earthen lamps ahead of ceremony.

As part of the 'deepotsava' celebrations in the temple town which will see Prime Minister Narendra Modi and other dignitaries, people has also lit diyas on the banks of Saryu river.
