NEW DELHI: Nifty PSU Bank index was trading on a positive note on Wednesday's morning session.
Shares of State Bank of India (up 2.22 per cent), Indian Bank (up 1.12 per cent), Punjab National Bank (up 1.08 per cent), Indian Overseas Bank (up 0.97 per cent) and Bank of Baroda (up 0.97 per cent) were among the top gainers.
While Bank of Maharashtra (down 0.42 per cent), UCO Bank (down 0.36 per cent) and Bank of India (down 0.2 per cent) were the top losers in the index.
The Nifty PSU Bank index was trading 1.24 per cent up at 1437.8 around 11:25AM.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 86.70 points at 11181.95, while the BSE Sensex was up 274.66 points at 37962.57.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 37 were trading in the green, while 13 were in the red.
Shares of YES Bank, Vodafone Idea, SAIL, SBI and Tata Motors were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
