There has been a big reduction in terrorist incidents in the valley now. The separatist leaders who are trying to trick people in the name of autonomy are also now looking for their new way. The youth are connecting themselves to the new future of Kashmir.

In the last year, security forces have attacked terror in Jammu and Kashmir. In the last one year after August 5, more than 180 terrorists, including the leaders of various Tanjim, have been piled up. Pakistan-sponsored terrorism in the valley has almost broken. There has been a significant reduction in terrorist incidents during the last year.

Many big gangsters are among the terrorists killed after August 5, 2019. The biggest success of security forces is considered to be the overthrow of Hizbul Mujahideen's infamous militant Riyaz Naiku in an encounter in Pulwama district.

After this, Junaid Sehrai, son of Naiku's close and separatist Ashraf Sehrai, along with many other big Hizbul militants Omar Fayyaz alias Hamad Khan, Jahangir, Wasim Ahmed Wani, and Masood Bhat was also killed. Burhan Koka of Ansar Gajwa Tul Hind (AGH), Bashir Koka of Lashkar-e-Taiba, Haider, Ishfaq Rashid, Sajjad Ahmed Dar of Jaish-e-Mohammad, Sajjad Nawabi, Qari Yasir and Pakistani IED expert Abu Rahman alias Fauji Bhai. Was also shot down. Meanwhile, 25 terrorists and more than 300 helpers have also been arrested.

Law and order situation improves

After the removal of Article 370, not only has there been a big reduction in terrorist incidents in the valley, but the law and order situation has also improved. The Jammu and Kashmir Police has recently sent a report to this effect to the Union Home Ministry.

According to sources, the report noted that in the six months following the killing of Hizbul commander Burhan Wani on July 8, 2016, there were around 2500 violent incidents and 117 civilians were killed. At the same time, after the withdrawal of the special status of the state on August 5, 2019, there were definitely 196 violent incidents, but none of them died.

This is a decline of around 78 percent based on data. Security experts attribute this to the National Security Advisor (NSA) Ajit Doval. A year ago, after Article 370 was removed, Doval himself reached Kashmir and implemented a plan to control the situation at the ground level.

Audio not able to go viral

It has been 1 year since 4G internet services were shut down in Jammu and Kashmir. There is also a demand to restore it, but curbing the communication service has helped to bring the security system in Kashmir back on track. During the encounter with the terrorists, the terrorists used to make their audio viral. People used to reach the site of this encounter. But now it has been stopped. Audio and video of terrorists are no longer easily accessible to people.

Security forces get free exemption in Kashmir

Security forces got freehand after Article 370 was removed. However, after the removal of 370, there was no major operation in the first two-three months. The terrorists who killed the Gujjar brothers were killed in Trial. In the first seven months of 2020, 150 terrorists were killed, while 126 terrorists were killed in the same period last year.

In 2019, there were 188 terrorist incidents, while in 2020 their number came down to 120. There were 21 grenade attacks in 2020, compared to 51 grenade attacks in 2019. 23 civilians were killed in 2019, while 22 have died so far in 2020. In 2019, 75 security personnel were martyred in terrorist incidents, while so far 36 soldiers have been martyred this year.

Youth left the path of terrorism

Many Kashmiri youths got away from terrorism. Till July this year, 67 youth were admitted to terrorist organizations. In 2019, the number was 105 in the first seven months. From August 2019 till now, 100 young terrorists have been formed, which is very less as compared to 172 of last year.

The main reason for this is that the crowd is not believed to be involved in terrorist groups. In fact, so far this year, the police have not handed over the bodies of the slain terrorists to their families. Even though Kovid 19 is being cited as the reason behind it, the government's strategy is to keep the crowd away from the public.
