Medical representative dies after tree falls on him near Coimbatore

COIMBATORE: A 29-year-old medical representative died on Tuesday after a tree fell on him while he was returning home on a two-wheeler near Perur in Coimbatore district.
The deceased has been identified as K Sathish Kumar of West Street at Sennanur on the outskirts of Coimbatore.
A police officer in Perur said Sathish Kumar was on his two-wheeler on Wednesday night when the tree fell on him due to a strong wind. The accident happened at Theethipalayam.
Sathish suffered a severe head injury and was rushed to Coimbatore Medical College and Hospital (CMCH) where he died on Tuesday morning without responding to the treatment.
The Perur police registered a case based on a complaint filed by his father, R Karuppusamy, 59.
After performing a postmortem, Sathish’s body was handed over to his family members.
Further investigation was on.
After the accident, district revenue officer Ramadurai Murugan instructed the state highways department to check the condition of all trees on the highway to prevent such incidents
