Farooq calls all-party meeting today

SRINAGAR: National Conference president and Srinagar MP Farooq Abdullah has called an all-party meeting at his residence here on Wednesday — the day coincides with the anniversary of the abrogation of Article 370 — to chalk out a future course of action to seek restoration of the Article that granted special status to the erstwhile state of Jammu & Kashmir.
“Several parties including PDP, Congress, ANC, CPM, PDF, Peoples Conference and J&K Peoples Movement have been invited,” a politician invited to the meeting told TOI.
The authorities, apprehending a law and order situation, have already imposed curfew in Kashmir Valley. They deployed policemen and personnel of paramilitary forces around the residences of senior political functionaries.
ANC vice-president Muzaffar Shah said, “My gate has been shut by forces and police van has been deputed outside. I have been informed about two days of house detention by cops.”
