Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation seals two premises for not maintaining Covid norms

AHMEDABAD: After sealing Ahmedabad One Mall on Monday, the solid waste department team of city civic body sealed one Saviour Pharmaceutical's office and McDonald's outlet in Himalaya Mall on Tuesday for not following Covid-19 norms.
Harshad Solanki, director of solid waste department said that the Saviour office situated in Synergy Building on Corporate Road was sealed as no staff in the office was found wearing masks nor the authorities had maintained social distancing norms.
The office situated on the 11th floor was sealed.
The solid waste department team on checking the McDonald's outlet situated in Himalaya Mall found that no social distancing was being followed and even the customers sitting there were not wearing masks.
The officials of the solid waste department said that as per the norms, there should be distance between two customers and but they were sitting close to each other and while having their food they had to remove the mask, which could infect the next customer.
Solanki further said that the department team has decided to carry out checks in the offices, show rooms, malls and even restaurants.
