PM Modi lays foundation stone for Manipur Water Supply Project

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on July 23 laid the foundation stone for Manipur Water Supply Project via video conferencing. Centre has provided funds for the project under Jal Jeevan Mission to Manipur for freshwater household tap connections. Project aims to cover 1,185 habitations with 1,42,749 households. It is an important component for state government to achieve its goal of 'Har Ghar Jal' by 2024. Manipur Governor Najma Heptulla, Chief Minister N Biren Singh, and his MPs and MLAs joined the program from Imphal.

Study: Obese, Older African-Americans At High Risk Of Severe COVID-19 Complications

A new study reveals a high body mass index raises the risk for severe COVID-19 and admission to intensive care units among African Americans. According to UPI, BMI is a calculation based on a person's height and weight and identifies whether they are overweight or obese. Novel coronavirus COVID-19 intensive care unit patients had a higher average body mass index than those who weren't admitted to the ICU.

Union Civil Aviation Minister, Hardeep Singh Puri participated in the 1st Indo-Asean Oceanic Business Summit and Expo on August 04. He discussed about the post COVID order at the summit. "When we plan for the post COVID order, we need to diversify, create new supply chains, we should try and avoid excessive dependence on any one source or commodity," said Hardeep Singh Puri.
