Sushant Singh Rajput’s death by suicide on June 14 is being probed by the Mumbai police since nearly a month. The actor’s father KK Singh recently filed an FIR in Patna against Rhea Chakraborty, alleging abetment of suicide, fraud and confinement among other charges. Since then, the Bihar police have also been actively involved in the probe. While Rhea had been responding through her legal team, Sushant Singh Rajput’s family is putting forward their stand through their lawyer. Vikas Singh, lawyer of Sushant Singh Rajput's father, tells Supreme Court that quarantine (of Bihar IPS Officer Vinay Tiwari in Mumbai) is only to destroy the evidence. He also pleaded for a direction to Mumbai police to cooperate with Bihar police in the case.

Solicitor general Tushar Mehta informed Justice H Roy that Centre has accepted the Bihar government's recommendation for probe into Rajput's death. He said even Rhea Chakraborty had requested the Centre to order a CBI probe.
SC grants three days time to Maharashtra government to file the status of investigation. It also asked Bihar government and Rajput's father to place their stand on Rhea Chakraborty's plea for transfer of Bihar FIR to Mumbai police. SC said it will hear the case next week.
