Military Hospital Prayagraj comes up with high dependency unit for Covid patients

PRAYAGRAJ: As the Sangam city is battling with rising number of corona positive cases, the Military Hospital of the city has come up with a high dependency unit for Covid-19 patients.
This, Covid High Dependency Unit (HDU) complex at the Military Hospital (MH) was inaugurated on Tuesday. The facility comes as a boon for the forces, stationed in and around prayagraj comprising both personnel of army and air force units and their families.
The complex was inaugurated by Maj Gen IM Lamba, General Officer Commanding (GOC), Purva UP and MP Sub Area.
The defence public relation officer, (PRO), Wing Commander Shailendra Pandey informed that the Covid HDU complex comprises of HDU for Covid-19, Covid testing lab with viral transport media and rapid antigen testing, toilet complexes, donning doffing room etc. The facility has been created under operational works by the army authorities in a record time of three months.
Brigadier Sundeep Bhandari (VSM), commandant, MH Allahabad, reiterated that under Covid preparedness, from March 2020 and up till now, lot of efforts have been made for enhancement of medical infrastructure, essential medical equipments, drugs, testing facilities and manpower training on disinfection and sanitisation.
MH Allahabad has 120 beds dedicated for Covid positive patients which include 70 beds for males, 40 for their family members and 10 for critical care.
