GURUGRAM: The health department has so far filed complaints against 59 people who went untraced after giving their samples and tested positive.
Officials said that these people submitted their samples and then either provided wrong contact details or moved out of Gurugram. Health department officials were able to contact them only after complaints were filed against them. Of the 59 complaints, 21 were converted into FIRs.

Dr MP Singh, nodal officer of containment zones, said, “These complaints were filed as most of these people moved out of Gurugram after sampling. We had filed complaints and FIRs so that they can be traced and don’t infect other people.”
The health department officials said that more than 90% of them were traced by the police after complaints were filed. A few of them had tested positive but had again submitted their samples for testing. Officials said that despite informing these people that they were positive and had to follow home isolation for 17 days, they went for testing again before completing their home isolation.
Gurugram chief medical officer Virender Yadav said that the health department has already issued notices to the hospitals and private labs where people submitted samples again before completing home isolation. “We have instructed private labs and hospitals to ensure not to conduct tests on old prescription. We have also told them to reconfirm whether the patient is conducting the test again or not,” Yadav said.
He added that even after filing complaints against people for submitting wrong addresses and other contact details they keep on providing wrong details.
As many as 47 complaints were from Bhangrola of which 17 were converted into FIRs. One complaint was filed in Badshahpur, two FIRs each were filed in Daultabad and Om Nagar among others.
The CMO added, “Curbs have been relaxed now and people should be more careful. Workers returning to factories should give details all details. If they are from other states and go for testing within 14 days of their arrival, they should mention both their permanent and present addresses.”
