At $40,000, Can This ’69 Corvette Stingray Convince You To Spend Your Green?

With prices starting at $59,995, the Chevrolet C8 Corvette is a bargain. However, it is not the only great value Corvette you can buy, as this used 1969 Stingray Convertible we recently came across is similarly well priced.

Adorning the exterior of the car is Fathom Green paint, and while it does have some cracks and scrapes, it still looks excellent. Contrasting it is chrome on the front bumper, wing mirrors, windshield frame, and a section of the rear bumper. The car is also rocking original chrome wheels and tires with red stripes.

Inside, LBI Limited, which is selling the car, notes that the original green vinyl remains in great condition and images confirm that statement, showing minimal signs of wear and tear.

This Corvette was purchased by the current owner in 1998 and at the time, it had 48,422 miles (77,927 km) on the clock. It currently has 50,954 miles (82,002 km) and has only been driven on rare occasions over the past 22 years. Despite this, the current owner has regularly serviced and maintained the car, including having many of the original suspension and braking parts replaced.

Driving the iconic American sports car is a 350 cubic-inch V8 churning out 300 hp and mated to a four-speed manual transmission. The listing notes that the radiator has been replaced and the valve covers have been repainted but, apart from that, everything is standard.

The car has an asking price of $40,000. While you could make an argument it would be worth spending $20,000 more to get a C8, the truth is that most C8s sold are specced out to well beyond $60,000 – plus, there’s a great demand for them, which means you might have to wait a while until you take delivery. Moreover, the original Corvette Stingray also has a unique appeal to it that not even the new car can match.
