Man arrested for sexually abusing girl

Coimbatore: The rural police on Sunday arrested a 22-year-old Periyanaickenpalayam resident on the charge of sexually abusing a 15-year-old girl.
The girl was alone at her house when the man visited her and told her that her brother had asked him to bring her to the Periyanaickenpalayam railway station, police sources said. “He took the girl to the railway station area and sexually abused her. But he escaped after the girl raised an alarm,” a police officer said.
Police have registered a case against the man under Section 7 and 8 of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (Pocso) Act, 2012. TNN
