Ku Ka Selvam, who represents the Thousand Lights constituency, was expecting the designation of District Secretary.

He joined DMK after leaving All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (AIADMK) in 1997. He contested on behalf of DMK and is currently the MLA of Thousand Lights constituency.

According to reports, Ku Ka Selvam is dissatisfied with the non-availability of the Chennai West District Secretary post. Chitrarasu, a member of the DMK youth team, was recently appointed as the party head of the Western District.

It is speculated that Ku Ka Selvam is set to leave for Delhi and join BJP in the presence of party president J P Nadda on Tuesday evening.
