Hyderabad: Five e-com company workers arrested for stealing cell phones

HYDERABAD: Shamshabad police in Telangana capital Hyderabad arrested five employees of an e-commerce company for stealing cell phones worth Rs 1 lakh from the company warehouse.
The accused are, Md Muzamith of Ramanjapur, M Anil of Ramanjapur, Ch Shiva of Solipet in Shabad, TM Prashanth of Bhotiguda in Shamshabad and K Bablu of Bhotiguda in Shamshabad.
On July 31, A Koteshwar Reddy, 38, Security and Loss Prevention Senior Executive of Hyderabad Hub E-com Express in Rasheedguda, Shamshabad, lodged a complaint with police alleging that unknown persons have stolen phones (of a brand) from the delivery hub.
"Again on August 2, Reddy, along with few of his colleagues, searched the parcels in the delivery hub that came from e-commerce companies to be delivered to customers. During the internal inspection, Reddy found out that six cell phones and two imitation gold chains were missing and lodged a second complaint," Shamshabad SI A Sudarshan said.
Based on the complaints, police registered two separate theft cases under section 381 of the IPC and launched investigation. Based on the CCTV camera footages and employee logs, police picked up the accused for questioning on August and they confessed to have stolen the cell phones and imitation jewellery. Police recovered seven stolen cell phones and two items of imitation jewellery, all worth Rs 1 lakh from their possession. The accused were sent in judicial remand on Tuesday.
