UPSC announces civil services exam result; Neha Bhosale ranked 15th in country, tops in Maharashtra

The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) announced results for the civil services exam 2019 on Tuesday (August 4).

Pune: The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) announced results for the civil services exam 2019 on Tuesday (August 4). Haryana’s Pradeep Singh has topped the exam in the country, while Neha Bhosale has ranked 15th in the country and emerged as the topper from Maharashtra state. More than 50 candidates from Maharashtra have cleared the exam.

UPSC has cleared total 829 candidates out of which 180 will join the Indian Administrative Service (IAS), 24 Indian Foreign Service (IFS), 150 Indian Police Service (IPS), 438 for Central Civil Group A and 135 for Group B. These candidates were cleared after the three rounds of assessment in 2019-2020. The main examinations were conducted in September 2019 and interviews were conducted in February to August in view of the Covid-19 situation.

Out of the 829 candidates, 39 are Marathi boys and girls. 304 students from Open category have cleared the exam, while 78 from EWS, 251 from OBC, 129 from SC and 67 from ST category have cleared the exam.
