IIM Ahmedabad sees 21.79% women in Batch of 2020-22\, down from 23.71% last year
KOLKATA: Gender diversity numbers have dipped at IIM Ahmedabad, with about 21.79% of the batch of 2020-22 comprising women, down from 23.71% the year before. In actual numbers, about 85 students from the 390-strong class size are women, compared to 92 out of 388 in 2019-21.
“We are conscious about the efficacy of increasing the percentage of women entering our class. The achievements are slow as the goal is to not give extra credits or specify a quota for gender or other diversity attributes in the admissions process,” Professor D’Souza, Director, IIMA told ET.
IIM Kozhikode had earlier announced that women students account for about 52% of its 492-strong batch. IIM Rohtak had made a new record by admitting 69% women in its batch of 2020-22
